The High School Football Huddle
All six 2008 Iowa high school football champs are back to defend their titles, although some are more likely than others to capture 2009 hardware.
For example, defending Class-4A West Des Moines Valley is back, but after a 5-4 regular season, really isn't expected to challenge for a trip to the UNI-Dome. Valley opens on the road tonight at Fort Dodge.
On the other hand there's two-time Class 2-A champ Solon, which brings a 36-game win streak into its substate game. Solon's first round game is at home against Mediapolis.
