Iowa City High beat Marshalltown 42-14 Friday for Iowa's 4-A championship.

Iowa Prep Sports reports running back Ellis Jordan had a big game in his career finale for the Little Hawks.

Harlan Wins 12th Iowa Football Title

Harlan didn't have any problems capturing its 12th title beating Pella 35-14 for Iowa 3-A championship.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the Cyclones offense was clicking on all cylinders in the first half.

Solon's Win Streak Reaches 41 Straight in Three-Peat

Solon became the first 2-A team to win three straight titles by beating Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley 38-7.

The Spartans now own a 41-game win streak and joins Harlan and Decorah as the only schools to win three straight state titles. Harlan actually did the three-peat twice.

The Sioux City Journal report that the win closes out the great four-year career of James Morris, who scored 40 touchdowns this season.

St. Albert's Wins Another Iowa Football Title

For the fourth time in the last seven years, St. Albert is Iowa's Class 1-A champ.

The team from Council Bluffs capped a perfect 14-0 season with a 35-0 shutout of South Winneshiek. Jake Water, who led St. Alberts to the 2007 championship, rushed for three touchdowns this year victory.

Southern Cal Wins Back-to-Back Titles

Southern Cal needed overtime to win its second straight Iowa Class football title.

The Sioux City Journal reports that SC beat Newman Catholic 28-27 on quarterback Greg Meyer's two-point conversion run.

Armstrong-Ringsted Wins First 8-Player Title

After two straight years of being the bridesmaid, the third time was the charm for Armstrong-Ringsted as it beat defending state champ Lenox 49-30 to capture Iowa's 8-Player state football championship.

The WCF Courier reports that wide receiver Craig Tigges had a record-setting game to snap Lenox's 23-game win streak.
